Parassinikkadavu Temple:

18 kilometres north of Kannur, on the banks of the Valapattanam river in a setting of great natural beauty stands the Shri Muthappan Temple at Parassinikkadavu.  Steeped in legend it’s a hallowed spot.  Open to all this is the only place where one can see the theyyam performed all around the year. 

Visitors can also enjoy a boat ride with trees zooming around you; the wide river opening up to the blue expanse of the sea ahead.

On the way to Parassinikkadavu Temple is the snake park.  The demonstration of snakes is held every hour at the snake park.

Peralassery Sri Subrahmanya temple: 

Peralassery Sri Subrahmanya temple is situated on the Kannur -Koothuparamba route 15kms from Kannur. The main deity is a serpent a God. It is very popular in the entire Malabar.

 The Sree Sundareshwara Temple at Kannur and Jaganatha temple at Thalassery which were established by the great siant and social reformer Sree Narayana Guru. The Odathil Palli at Thalassery was built by the Portuguese

Other important temples include Kottiyur Temple at Manathana village, 65 kms. from Thalassery also called the Southern at Taliparamba, Subrahmanya Swamy Temple at Payyanur, Kalarivatukal Temple near Valapattanam river, Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, Peralasseri.

The prominent Spiritual Centres include The Sri Sathyasai Centre at Kanathur kavu, Shantimadom at Azhikode, Mata Amritanandamayi Matt at Kakkad, Shirdisai Madom, Prajapathi Brahmakumari’s centre and Chinmaya Mission.
