Beypore, situated 10 km south of Kozhikode, is located at the mouth
of the Chaliyar River. Being Located at the mouth of the Chaliyar
River in Kozhikode district Beypore became one of the prominent ports
and fishing harbours of ancient Kerala. and was an important trade
and maritime centre. The Beypore beach is famous for its ancient ship
building yard, which constructed the "Uru" - the traditional
trading vessels of the Arabs. The Beypore Beach has a bridge built
nearly 2 kms into the sea. It is actually made up of huge stones piled
together for nearly 2 kms making a pathway into the sea
By road : Beypore is well connected by road and is just 11 km from
Kozhikode.
By air : Kozhikode t airport, is at Karipur and is 23 km from Kozhikode
city centre.
