An ancient ritual folk art prevalent in the erstwhile Central Travancore
region which takes themes from folklores. Parunthattom literally stands
for the dance of Parunthu (eagle). The leading musicial instrument
accompanying the art form is called Parayan Chenda - a percussion
instrument.
