Venue: Sree Krishna Temple, 14 km from Alappuzha town, south Kerala.
The Sree Krishna Temple is a glorious tribute to the Kerala style
of architecture. The holy offering of delicious milk porridge 'Ambalappuzha
palppayasam' is the most striking feature of the rituals at this temple.
The payasam is considered to be the epitome of sweetness by devout
Hindus of Kerala. When you visit God's Own Country make it a point
to taste the Ambalappuzha palppayasam. This offering is made here
everyday.
In the 16th century, the temple auditorium was the venue of Kunchan
Nambiar's 'Ottanthullal' debut. During the ten day festival many cultural
and folk art forms are performed here.
