Like any other pooram festival in Kerala, the annual pooram at the Arattupuzha Ayyappa Temple is a mind blowing spectacle. Sixty caparisoned elephants bearing brightly coloured muthukkuda (silken parasols) and white tufts present an exotic pageant. Traditional temple ensembles lend a majestic tenor to the extravaganza.
