Nishagandhi Dance Festival

The Nishagandhi Dance Festival is staged every year, from February 21 to 27. Renowned classical dancers perform at the Nishagandhi open air theatre near Kanakakkunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram city. Classical dances of almost all the states of India are staged during the festival. Mohiniyattom (Kerala), Bharatha Natyam (Tamilnadu), Kuchippudi (Andra Pradesh), Odissi (Orissa), Manipuri (Manipur), Kathak (north Indian classical dance) are the major dances performed. Renowned artistes and connoisseurs of dance from all over India come to enjoy this cultural treat.
