| Udad Dal | 2 Cups | Sock for an hour in water |
| Oil | For deep frying | |
| Green Chillies | 4 or 5 | Slice finely |
| Ginger | Small piece | Slice finely |
| Curry Leaves | 10 to 15 leaves | Slice finely |
| Shell Onions | 1 or 2 | Slice finely |
| Salt | To taste |
1. Grind the Urad Dal finely, with little water, to get a paste form.
2. Add the items 4 to 7 into the paste, and mix well.
3. Make small dumplings with a hole in the middle, and deep fry them in oil, at medium heat.
4. Remove from heat when turns golden brown.
5. Serve hot with coconut chutney (optional).
