Kanyakumari Devi Temple
Kanyakumari Devi Temple ( Aadi Parasakthi) at the lands end of India.
90 kms from thiruvananthapuram. East the Bay of bengal, south the
Indian ocean and the west lekshadweep sea. This temple is the abode
of virgin godess Devy ( Incarnation of Sree Parvathy) Kanyakumari
a symbol of sanctity. The legend is that Devy intended to marry Siva
of sucheendram but accidentally it could not take place and she did
penance and continued as Kanyaka. the best time to visit is on Chithra
Pournami Day ( Full Moon) in April. The moon is in the horizon and
the golden and red hot sun in the opposite side are a rare view at
the same time. 10 days festival in Vaisakham is the main one. Navarathri,
thrukkarthika are also celebrated.
