To convene the functions of the universe- Srishti (creation) Sthithi (Preservation) and Samhara (Annihilation) - this cosmic cause was
divided into three: Brahma, Vishnu and Siva. Siva is the liberator of all souls and penultimate receiver of all sacrifices. Parvati, the spouse of Lord Siva is the universal mother, the provider of Sakthi or energy for any action. Siva without Parvati, is, ipso facto, impotant, it is believed.
