1. Clean ,wash and soak the garam fo r half an hour and cook till
soft [water amount (a)if chapaties are to be served with Amti ;otherwise
as given in (b)].2.Heat oil and add mustard seeds ;when they crackle
,add slilt green chilies and chopped onion .When the onion is tender
,add chillies and chopped onion.When the onion is tender add chilli
powder ,turmeric and garam masala .3.Add the cooked gram , bring to
boil ,add tamarind juice ,jaggery ,and salt.
