ingredients for 4
split red gram 30 gm
tomatoes 115 gm
lime 1
curry leaves a few
coriander leaves 1/2 bunch
for tempering  
mustard seeds 1 tsp
black gram 2 gm
cumin a pinch
red chillies 2
asafoetida a pinch
oil 10 ml
salt to taste
green chillies 5 gm

Method

1. Boil the gram till tender .2. Cut tomatoes , slit green chillies and chop coriamder leaves . 3. Add tomatoes ,green chilies ,coriander leaves and curry leaves to gram water . Boil . 4. Heat oil ;add all the ingredients for tempering .5. When spices crackle add to boiling rasam . Add salt and boil for 5-10 minutes . 6. Remove from heat and add lime juice .
