Bengal Fish Curry

Ingredients quantity
fish 500 gm
red chillies 5 gm
turmeric a pinch
tomatoes 225 gm
coriander leaves 1/4 bunch
cloves  
cinnamon  
cardamom  
cumin  
onions 450 gm
curds 55 gm
chilli powder 1/4 tsp
mustard seeds a pinch
garlic 2 cloves
salt to taste
mustard oil 50 ml

Method

1. Roast and grind together cloves ,cinnamon ,cardamom and cumin.2. Clean , wash and cut fish . 3. Grind together chillies ,turmeric and part of the salt .4. Smear fish with ground spices ;shallow fry .5. Chop coriander leaves .Grind together chilli powder ,turmeric and part of the onions .6.Slice reamining onions and garlic . 7 . Heat oil ,fry sliced onions and garlic ,add ground spices and fry. 8.Add sliced tomatoes and fry gently till they are cooked ..9. Crush the tomatoes .Add well-beaten curds ,simmer for 10 to 15 minutes .Add fried fish . Continue simmering for another 10 to 15 minutes .Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve .
