Fish Vindaloo East Indian

ingredients quantity
pomfret or surmai or ghol fish 1
red chillies  
cumin seeds 2 gm
garlic 20 gm
ginger 10 gm
turmeric 2 gm
salt to taste
vinegar 8 ml
oil for frying 30 ml

Method

1. Clean ,wash and slice the fish .2. Grind to a fine paste thechillies ,cumin seed ,garlic ,turmeric and ginger ,if used .3. Smear on the fish and keep aside for 5 -10 minutes .4. Heat oil .Fry fish lighty on both sides .Remove .5. In a pan ,heat the remaining oil .Fry the remaining spices .6. Add about 2 cups of water .Bring to a boil .7. Add fish , salt and vinegar.8. Simmer till the fish is done .Taste and remove .
