ingredients quantity
breadcrumbs 2 cups
sugar 3/4 cup
butter 1/2 cup
apple sauce 2 cups
jam 1/2 cup
thick cream 1/2 cup
apple sauce  
cooking apples 4
lemon peel  
sugar 1/2 cup
raisins 1/4 cup
egg yolk 1

Method

1. Prepare the sauce . Cut apples into eighths and cover with cold water . 2. Add lemon peel and cook for 20-30 minutes or until apples are soft . put the cooked apples through a strainer to remove peel and core . Add sugar and raisins .3. Whip egg yolk in to the mixture to make it fluffy. Combine breadcrumbs and sugar . Saute in butter slowly until browned .4. Place alternate layers of breadcrunbs and apple sauce in a glass dish. Put thin layers of jam between layers. serve chilled with whipped cream .
