ingredients for 4
covering  
refined flour 100 gm
soda bicarbonate a pinch
sour curds 20 gm
fat 20 gm
salt to taste
filling  
split green dal 60 gm
garam masala a pinch
coriander leaves a few sprigs
green chillies 3 gm
ginger a small piece
fat 15 gm

Method

1. Sieve flour with salt .2. Rub in fat. 3. Beat the curds with a little water and add to flour .4. Add soda bicarbonate dissolved in a little water .5. Make a smooth dough and keep aside .6. Soak gram overnight . 7. Chop green chillies ,ginger and coriander leaves .8. Heat fat . Saute gram and chopped ingredients . Add garam masala .9. Cover and cook gently till gram is cooked . Add salt .10. Divide dough into equal portions.11. Flattern dough between palms ;fill with the gram filling . Seal edges on top . 12. Deep fry till golden brown ;serve piping hot with chutney.
