Lentil Soup

Lentil Soup

ingredients for4
lentil 115 gm
carrots 55 gm
turnip 30 gm
onions 30 gm
celery 15 gm
stock 1 litre
milk 150 ml
butter 30 gm
refined flour 30 gm
pepper a pinch
salt to taste
croutons  
bread 30 gm
fat to fry 15 gm

Method

1. Wash lentil and put in to pan with stock. 2. Add sliced onion and celery and sredded carrots and turnip .3. Add seasoning and boil gently until lentils and vegetables are tender .4. Rub through a sieve .5. Melt fat ;add flour . Blend well . Add milk gradually to form a smooth sauce .6. Add soup . Mix well . Bring to boil point stirring all the time . Boil for about 3 minutes .7. Serve hot with fried croutons .
